An Intimate Christmas Wedding

Planning your wedding can often be a tricky task, but to have to rearrange not twice, but three times can take its toll. We were fortunate enough that this wonderful couple, Becky and Anthony, chose us, the Dish Cornwall team, to help with their rearrangements.

After two attempts to get married during the Covid pandemic which were not able to go ahead, the couple finally said ‘I Do’ in a beautiful Cornish wedding venue Camel Studio in Washaway, Cornwall - tucked away in the rolling countryside, with an intimate number of family and very close friends. And to make it even more special, the wedding took place just before Christmas - third time lucky!

Although there was the constant ‘nod’ to the covid restrictions we are all adhering to, this didn’t take away from the fact that the day was still full of love and laughter.

We met our ‘foodie match’ with Becky and Anthony; their love of fine food ‘oozed’ when we met, and we were so happy to have served them the wedding meal of their dreams…

Carefully selected canapés to embrace local ingredients, served seated of course! Then for the wedding breakfast, a plated starter of Cornish scallops, followed by tender, generously sliced Cornish beef with creamed dauphinoise which satisfied the winter craving for a hearty main course, finished with delicate miniature desserts to embrace the couple’s all-time favourites.

“Every one of our guests said they would have expected nothing less from us than sublime food on our wedding day, and that’s exactly what they got.” - Becky and Anthony January 2021

To toast their special day, Camel Valley Brut, a local favourite from only a few miles from the venue accompanied the canapés.

The planning, styling and flowers Helen Cotton - Camel Studio | Phoebe Rubinace - Piccolo Weddings | Sophie Ayres - SA Floristry had been designed with elegance, and thought for the season which suited the wedding so well, and the pianist Elliot Porter - Pop Up Piano played beautifully throughout the day and into the early evening. The wedding day was captured by photographers The Two Photographers to whom we give credit to these photos.

Who’s to say you need a big wedding…. this was for us, the perfect Intimate Christmas Wedding -

Thank You Becky and Anthony x

“Overall we want to say a big thank you to Sophie, David and Mark for contributing to our perfect day by providing us with a bespoke menu using quality, local produce that had all of our guests commenting on how they felt more like they were eating in a fine dining restaurant than at a wedding. Thank you guys!” - Becky and Anthony January 2021
